DNAtest confirmed that the suicide bomber in Poso, Central Sulawesi, wasZainul Arifin alias Arif Petak, a member of terrorist cell led by fugitiveSantoso.

NationalPolice spokesperson Sr. Comr. Agus Rianto said the police had comparedDNA samples from the remains of the body with those of Zainul's mother, Zumaroh.

"Zainulwas associated with an Islamic boarding school in Lamongan, EastJava. His wife, Fatimah, works as a kindergarten teacher in Lamongan,"Agus said on Tuesday.

OnJune 3, Zaenul drove into the Poso Police headquarters compound on a motorbike anddetonated a bomb strapped to his body. He was the sole fatality of theincident.

Policegained information about Zainul's terrorist activities from Umar, one ofSantoso's accomplices who was arrested on June 8 in Poso.

"Thevictim [Zaenul] was a groom, the group's code name for suicide bomber. Hecoordinated with men identified only as A and Jun," Agus said,without elaborating further. (dic)
