rade Minister Gita Wirjawan has come under fire again after being harshly criticized by social media users for participating on an entertainment show on a private TV station during office hours.
Previously, Gita's picture in the ministry's advertisement for 'Kampanye Cinta Product Indonesia' ,a campaign encouraging people to use Indonesian products, also drew criticism as the minister is currently participating in the Democratic Party's presidential convention.
Gita was a guest a music show on Friday morning, during which he showed off his ability to play keyboards with pop band the Wali, Tribunnews.com reported.
'Music is a trade commodity, maybe that's why Gita was on Inbox show [the music show],' twitter user @BudiSetyarso wrote. The user added, 'Today is Friday, which is technically a working day, why is the minister on Inbox?'
'While the price of chicken skyrockets due to soaring animal feed prices and tofu-tempeh are scarce due to surging soybean prices, the minister in charge of it is kareoke-ing on Inbox,' wrote @andjrot.
Another twitter user, @erwinarda, posted 'He got bored of visiting traditional markets so he is now approaching youngsters [to get sympathy].'
Lawyer Farhat Abbas, who is notorious for his controversial tweets, also posted, 'The President should replace Gita with someone who is more credible in handling trade affairs. Let Gita become the host and judge of Inbox.' (hrl)
