looding has hit seven neighborhoods in Kampung Pulo, Jatinegara, East Jakarta on Monday due to the rising water level of the Katulampa reservoir in Bogor.
The rising-water level was caused by heavy rain in Bogor on Saturday, which resulted in the reservoir bursting its banks. As a result, the Ciliwung River flooded the homes of residents along the river in Kampung Pulo, Kampung Melayu and in Jatinegara on the weekend.
Head of Community unit no. 4 in Kampung Pulo Usep Tahrudin said that the flooding momentarily receded on Sunday morning, but rose again on Monday.
