TV soap opera darling Shireen Sungkar, who is six months pregnant, says she will start wearing the traditional Muslim headscarf starting this Ramadhan.
'Since I found out I was pregnant, I have wanted to wear the headscarf, but didn't know when to start,' Shireen said in Jakarta as quoted by kompas.com.
The 22-year-old said that her husband actor, Teuku Wisnu, played a big role in encouraging her to wear the headscarf.
'Since we got married, he has always reminded about wearing the hijab. He talked to me about it slowly, by telling Muslim stories and rules,' Shireen said.
Shireen started her career as a cover model as a tween. She is best known for playing Fitri on the soap opera Cinta Fitri, the nation's second longest-running soap opera, which ran for 1,002 episodes from 2007 to 2011.
