Model and actress Kelly Tandiono says she has learned everything she needs to know for her role as a Japanese woman in the upcoming film Ayah: Menyayangi Tanpa Akhir (Father: Endless Love).
The face of many fashion spreads said that a coach had been provided for her to learn the language in just a month.
'It's difficult to learn a new language. Apart from my mother tongue, Indonesian, I'm only used to using English,' said the Singapore-born starlet as quoted by kapanlagi.com over the weekend.
Kelly, 28, who has been involved in four films since 2012, said that to make her acting convincing, she observed the members of platoon-sized girl group JKT48, the Indonesian version of Japan-based AKB48.
'I watched Japanese films and JKT48 music videos to get the feel of a cute Japanese girl,' she quipped.
Ayah is a drama adapted from a novel of the same title authored by Kirana Kejora. Helmed by Hanny R. Saputra, the films are slated to hit cinemas on Oct. 29. Cast members include Fedi Nuril and Naufal Azhar.
