orruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators have reportedly arrested a House of Representatives member on Wednesday. The lawmaker was apprehended along with three other suspects in relation to a suspected graft case.
“The report is true. Please wait for our [press] release for further details,” KPK chairman Agus Rahardjo said as quoted by Antara news agency.
Agus declined to disclose the identity of the House member, as well as information about the suspected graft case he or she was implicated in.
Information circulating among the media speculates that the lawmaker belongs to the House commission III overseeing legal affairs.
Early this year, the KPK arrested Damayanti Wisnu Putranti of the Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), and raided the offices of lawmakers Budi Supriyanto of the Golkar Party and Yudi Widiana of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) in a suspected bribery case involving a group of businessmen. (dmr)
