AKARTA: Kunto Aji is one of the many Indonesian musicians nominated for the 2016 Anugerah Planet Muzik Awards, an award ceremony dedicated to artists engaged in Malay and Indonesian music. The ceremony will be held in Singapore in August.
Kunto, who took home an award last year, is again nominated for two categories this year, namely Best Song and Most Popular Song for his hit single, “Ekspektasi” (Expectation).
“I won an award last year and a lot of Malaysians and Singaporeans commented on social media, saying that they wanted purchase my album,” he said as quoted by kapanlagi.com.
However, Kunto is not confident that he will be able to repeat last year’s success.
“There are a lot of great songs nominated this year, so the competition is pretty tough. I don’t know if I will win again,” he said.
Other Indonesian musicians nominated for an APM award include Iwan Fals, Agnes Monica, Afgan and Armand Maulana. — JP
