Flooding and traffic congestion occurred in South Jakarta following heavy rain on Saturday afternoon.
Some roads in South Jakarta are inundated with 30 to 70 centimeters of floodwater, according to tweets by Jakarta Police's Traffic Management Center @TMCPoldaMetro on Saturday. Flooded areas include those around ITC Fatmawati, Jl. Pangeran Antasari, Jl. TB Simatupang, Gandaria City Mall, Kemang Raya and Dharmawangsa.
"Floodwater is up to 70 centimeters deep on Jl. Kemang Raya and under the Antasari elevated road. Vehicles cannot pass these roads," tweeted @TMCPoldaMetro.
Furthermore, the road in front Gandaria City was also inundated, causing heavy traffic congestion.
The police also reported that a fallen tree in Blok M had worsened traffic in the area. (rin)
