he Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has officially kicked off the operation of its representative office in Jakarta to boost coordination between the continental association and the local organizer of the 2018 Asian Games.
Speaking to reporters during the inauguration of the office on Tuesday evening, OCA director general Husain Al-Musallam said the organization expected its new office in Jakarta would help facilitate better coordination with the Indonesian Asian Games Organizing Committee (INASGOC) during the preparations for the upcoming edition of the quadrennial sporting event, during which Indonesia will serve as the host.
Indonesian leading sports figure Rita Subowo, who also serves as an OCA vice president, has been appointed to lead the office as well as the liaison officer between OCA and INASGOC.
