intan authorities announced on Sunday that they have discovered 14 bodies in separate locations in Bintan waters within the past four days.
Indonesian Navy Base IV Commander First Adm. S. Irawan said the authorities had yet to confirm whether the bodies were linked to a boat that capsized last week in Malaysian waters or to other boat accidents.
"The bodies did not carry any IDs, which therefore makes identification difficult," Irawan said as quoted by Antara news agency.

He added that most of the bodies were found dismembered and in decomposed states.
"All the bodies have been taken to Bhayangkara Hospital for identification," Irawan said. (dmr)
