new incentive for drivers working for ride-sharing app Grab Indonesia has been announced in the form of a partnership between select Pertamina gas stations as a way to increase the quality of the vehicles used.
Appealing to human desire, Grab Indonesia’s business development head, Bayu Seto, noted that giving such incentives to drivers would help further improve the service Grab drivers provided passengers.
Drivers who buy certain types of Pertamina fuel, including Pertamax, Pertalite and Pertamina Dex, and also Pertamina lubricants such as Enduro and Fastron, will stand a chance to have their names included in a raffle to win new cars, motorcycles and a trip to Saudi Arabia for umroh (minor haj).
“This raffle will also help improve their service and quality of their vehicles,” Bayu said on Tuesday.

The partnership will also encourage Grab drivers to use non-subsidized fuels in their vehicles. Up to 30 percent of Grab’s drivers, using either motorcycles or cars, are noted to regularly use non-subsidized fuels.
Select Pertamina petrol stations under COCO management in West Java and Greater Jakarta will offer this promotion to its drivers.
As of 2017, Grab, which is based in Malaysia, has around 630,000 drivers South-East Asia wide. It hopes to grow by triple digits in the year ahead. (bbn)
