ermany's leading organizers of trade fairs, Messe München, invited Indonesian beverage and liquid food producers to join their quadrennial exhibition called Drinktec in September this year.

“The exhibition will show the entire production process in the beverage and liquid food industry, starting from manufacturing, filling and packaging to marketing,” Messe München business unit director Georg Moller said on Tuesday.

The producers are also required to show the raw materials, beverage ingredients and logistics solutions as well as whether they use low or high technology, Moller said.

Drinktec 2017 is expected to attract 1,600 exhibitors from 70 countries and more than 70,000 trade visitors from more than 180 countries all over the world.

“At the last Drinktec in 2013, we were delighted with a 14 percent increase in visitor numbers. Overall, we welcomed 66,886 trade visitors, 6,326 visitors were from Asia and 299 people were from Indonesia,” he said.

Messe München in association with German-Indonesian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (EKONID) cooperated for the first time with Indonesian Food and Beverages Association (GAPMMI), which has more than 400 members.

“We will announce this to our members and encourage them to join because this exhibition could provide inspiration from the thousands of innovations showcased there,” GAPMMI vice chairperson on promotion and cooperation Lena Prawira said.

EKONID head of trade fairs division Prieta Perthantri said there would be a discount for the entrance ticket for at least 20 participants from Indonesia. (dra/bbn)
