he Central Jakarta municipality has urged the Cempaka Putih administration to make a more concerted effort to reduce the risks of dengue after the district booked the most cases of dengue fever in Central Jakarta for the second consecutive time.
Central Jakarta Mayor Mangara Pardede said he demanded the district administration to vehemently seek and destroy mosquito nests in the area.
“The number of dengue patients in Cempaka Putih is still high, proven by the earning of red placards consecutively,” the mayor said as quoted by beritajakarta.com on Wednesday.
Red placards are attached to the districts that record the highest number of dengue cases.

Central Jakarta Health Agency head Yudith Endah Prihmaningtyas revealed there were 31 dengue cases in Cempaka Putih in January, adding that the agency had set up banners in eight subdistricts in the area to remind the residents about the dangers of the virus.
“They will have do more to eradicate mosquito’s nests in their area to reduce the number of dengue [cases],” Yudith said. (fac)
