Woman reported for alleged abuse to granddaughter

usdinan, 42, has reported his stepmother to the Bandung Police for allegedly mistreating his 11-year-old daughter, after the girl was hospitalized for suffering burn injuries to her face.
Kusdinan accused his stepmother Kosiah of causing his daughter, identified as RH, to suffer blisters on her face after allegedly burning her with hot oil.
RH has been treated in Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung, West Java since Oct. 1 for severe burns to her forehead and right eyebrow.
The incident occurred after RH returned from school to her grandfather’s house in Celak Village, Gununghalu district, West Bandung Regency on Sept. 29.
Kosiah allegedly ordered RH to do household chores. However, RH said she had a headache and wanted to take a rest, Kusdinan said.
“Maybe her grandmother was angry so she unconsciously grabbed [RH’s] hair and dunked her head into the pan where the oil was boiling. My daughter could not remember anything, she was already on the bed when she woke up,” Kusdinan said on Wednesday.
Kusdinan, who was alerted to the incident the next day, immediately picked up her daughter and brought her to the local community health center before she was admitted to the emergency room at Hasan Sadikin Hospital.
RH has lived with Kosiah for the past 1.5 years after her grandfather, Kusdinan’s father, passed away. Kusdinan lived separately with his wife and three other three children in Kiaracondong, Bandung.
Rani Septrina, a plastic surgeon at the hospital, said they had performed surgery to treat RH’s face wounds, adding that RH also suffered from minor eye injuries. (rin)
