wenty stalls and one church in Gembrong Lama Market, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta, caught fire on Friday at 3:30 a.m. The cause of the fire was reportedly a short circuit.
The fire was extinguished at 7:30 a.m. after the Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency deployed 21 fire trucks to the site.
“We received a report about the fire and immediately went to the location to extinguish it,” said one of the agency’s officials, Paino, as quoted by kompas.com.
He added that the fire spread rapidly as the stalls had flammable items such as clothing and plastic. (vny)
