Four dead in West Jakarta fire late on Thursday

our people died in a fire that burned down 11 stalls and a house on Jl. Pendongkelan Raya, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, late on Thursday.
The deceased, who were pronounced dead at the scene, were identified as Chen Chen, 38; Edi, 40; Gunawan, 80 and Lani Sumanto, 75.
Twenty-one firefighters were deployed to the scene.
“After the fire was put out at 9:50 p.m., firefighters discovered the bodies of the victims. They were family members of the owner of the house and stalls, Lani Sumanto, who also perished in the fire,” said West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency head Rompis.
Rompis said the fire may have been caused by an exploding gas canister.
The Cengkareng Police are investigating the incident.(jlm)
