The Jakarta Police narcotics unit have arrested Arbab Paproeka, a former member of the House of Representatives who served from 2004 to 2009, on allegations of shabu-shabu (crystal methamphetamine) possession.
The unit director Sr. Comr. Suwondo Nainggolan said on Monday that Arbab, a former National Mandate Party (PAN) politician, was arrested at The Mansion apartment complex in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Friday.
“Yes, it is correct. [Arbab] was arrested for drug possession,” Suwondo said, as quoted by kompas.com. He added that the police had seized several items of evidence at the apartment, namely a small plastic bag of crystal methamphetamine, a smoking implement and matches.
The police, however, did not announce what legal steps would follow. “We will inform you of any developments later.”...
