A fire razed a warehouse in Kampung Bandan, Pademangan, North Jakarta, on Thursday afternoon.
Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency chief Satriadi Gunawan said 31 fire trucks were deployed to the scene.
"We received news of the fire at 1:25 p.m. and the first fire truck arrived on the scene at 1:35 p.m.," he added.
The warehouse was close to a gas station.
"We didn't know what was going on early on," gas station employee Adi said as quoted by tribunjakarta.com. "But we proceeded to secure the gas station as soon as we learned what was happening."
He added that fellow employees asked firefighters to extinguish a fire that had spread to a nearby car showroom to prevent it from reaching the gas station. (rfa)
