The police are searching for another perpetrator who reportedly sold the stolen goods.
outh Tangerang Police have arrested four people for stealing money and electronic devices on Oct. 21 and Nov. 5 at Imanudin Mosque in Bintaro, South Tangerang.
The police's crime division head, Adj. Comr. Alexander Yurikho, said the perpetrators had been identified as MR, 18, SN, 19, FI, 19, and DA, 20.
“They are all friends, One of the perpetrators, MR, is the son of marbot [the mosque keeper],” Alexander said on Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.
Alexander said MR had secretly duplicated the mosque secretary's office key that his father had been keeping as a marbot.
On Oct. 21, MR was said to have persuaded the other three perpetrators to steal goods inside the mosque’s secretary office using the duplicate key. They are alleged to have stolen a television, Wi-Fi modem, loudspeaker, printer, camera and two laptops.
On Nov. 5, the perpetrators reportedly committed a second theft. They are suspected of stealing money from a donation box.
When committing the crime, the perpetrators covered their faces and wore gloves, jackets and backpacks.

The crime was revealed after the police checked a CCTV recording. Alexander said eyewitnesses told the police that one of the perpetrator’s behavior was similar to that of MR.
The police then arrested MR. Another three perpetrators were arrested at their respective houses after MR admitted they were friends. (sau)
