Banjarbaru man arrested for raping daughter

women in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, reported on the weekend her husband to the Banjarbaru Resort Police for allegedly raping their daughter. She claimed to have only learned about the alleged rape recently, over a decade later.
The man, identified as R, 41, had allegedly raped the couple’s daughter over a period of four years, beginning 14 years ago when the girl was 4 years old.
The police’s crime division immediately followed up the report and arrested R, who reportedly admitted to the crime. Investigators have also questioned the victim and witnesses.
“He raped his daughter up to three times a week,” Banjarbaru Resort Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Kelana Jaya said on Monday as quoted by local news outlet banjarmasinpost.co.id.
R faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison if found guilty. (swd)
