After being involved in many drama movies, singer and songwriter Melly Goeslaw has made a leap to the horror genre.
Melly produces Nawangsih, a horror series launched by online streaming platform Maxstream on Wednesday.
“I’m involved as the writer and producer. I wrote the story, which was then adapted into a film script by Evelyn,” Melly told kompas.com.
Melly said she had always been fond of writing horror stories.
“This [Nawangsih] is not my first horror story. I love to write horror stories but they were never published,” said Melly.
Directed by Hedy Suryawan, the horror series follows Arya (Mario Lawalata) and his family as they move to an old house owned by Arya’s late father. Their lives turn upside down after Arya’s daughter, Nawangsih discovers a mystical old lamp.
