span>It appears that riding the bus is not part of actress Raline Shah’s daily routine. So when Raline got the role of an underprivileged woman in the upcoming comedy-drama Orang Kaya Baru (New Rich People), she hit the street to know more about a “humble lifestyle”.
Raline said she learned how to eat in a modest warung (food stall) and ride a public bus to be fully immersed in her role.
“I learned the gestures; sitting, eating at a food stall, riding the bus, things that may sound silly,” said Raline as quoted by kompas.com.
Raline also stated that she meticulously observed the gestures of the passengers to understand how they felt when riding the bus.
“The movie gave me a chance to understand how it feels like to be an underprivileged person. That’s an experience I will never forget,” Raline said.
In Orang Kaya Baru, Raline shares the screen with Cut Mini, Lukman Sardi, Fatih Unru, Refal Hady, Derby Romero and Dea Panendra. The comedy-drama, directed by Ody C. Harahap, will hit theaters Thursday.
