Pollsters prove critics wrong with KPU tally

Indonesian pollsters have again proven their credibility in predicting election results using the quick count method after the General Elections Commission (KPU) announced the result of the national vote tally of the April 17 presidential election, which was pretty much in line pollster predictions. The quick count conducted by the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and Cyrus Network was the most accurate with a 0.12 percent margin.The poll body announced in the early hours of Tuesday that the Joko “Jokowi” Widodo-Ma’ruf Amin pair had secured 85 million votes or 55.5 percent of the 154.2 million valid votes, while the Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno pair garnered 68 million votes (44.5 percent).
