A

photograph showing a residential complex of town houses located on the roof of a shopping mall – complete with roads, gardens and even a swimming pool – is trending on social media.

The Cosmo Park rooftop residential complex is part of the Thamrin City Mall mixed-use development in Central Jakarta.

Twitter user @shahrirbahar1 uploaded the photo of the town house complex with the caption, “Good morning Jakarta [sic]. What kind of person imagined building a residential compound atop a building?”

According to a report published on kompas.com, a Thamrin City Mall employee confirmed that the residential complex was located on the 10th floor of the building, and that only those who held a Cosmo Tower access card could reach the rooftop level.

The photograph appears to show tiny dots (thought to be residents) in the swimming pool. The complex looks like any other housing complex, with tree-lined asphalt roads, lawns and driveways – only, it stands amid and looks out over skyscrapers in downtown Jakarta.

Cosmo Park contains five housing blocks (numbered A to F) with two-story town houses painted pale beige and grey. (eyc)
