Four Seasons Resort Bali quarantines 54 staffers as precaution against COVID-19
Several media publications claimed that a COVID-19 patient identified as Case 25, reportedly a 53-year-old British woman, died on Wednesday, had stayed at Four Seasons Resort Bali, which the hotel has refuted.

our Seasons Resort Bali in Jimbaran has decided to quarantine 54 hotel staff members, following the death of a British woman from COVID-19 on the resorts island on Wednesday.
The resort took the precautionary measure because the woman’s travel partner had stayed there, although the woman herself had never stayed at the resort.
“Fifty-four people out of 596 of our staff are quarantined. This is just a precaution because the [women’s] travel partner was not identified as positive [for COVID-19]. The travel partner is currently healthy and in a good condition,” Joseph Ong, assistant public relations manager of Four Seasons Resort Bali, told The Jakarta Post on Thursday.
“The hotel is in operation as usual,” he said, adding that the health and safety of guests and employees are the hotel’s top priority.
A COVID-19 patient identified as Case 25, reportedly a 53-year-old British woman, died in Sanglah Hospital on Wednesday.
Several media publications claimed that she had stayed at Four Seasons Resort Bali, which the hotel has refuted.
“The woman did not stay at Four Seasons Resorts Bali during her time on the island. She became ill prior to her reservation at Four Seasons and went to the hospital directly from her previous hotel in Bali. Her traveling partner subsequently checked into Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay, on his own. This guest was on the property on March 4-8,” Marian Carroll, Four Seasons Resorts Bali senior director of public relations and communications, said in a statement on Thursday.
“Due to previous contact with the woman, he went to the hospital on March 8 for observation and was placed in isolation as a precautionary measure. We are saddened by this news [of the woman’s passing] and our thoughts and prayers go out to her family.”

Carroll said the resort’s management had notified all guests whose stay had overlapped with the patient’s travel partner.
“We have also asked employees who had any interaction with the individual to self-quarantine at home,” she said.
The Four Seasons is in full cooperation with the Ministry of Health and local health officials in Bali.
“Prior to notification of this case, Four Seasons Resorts Bali heightened our already stringent practices around food handling, as well as sanitization, disinfection and cleaning of guest rooms and public areas. Antibacterial hand sanitizers have been placed in areas across the property and face masks are also available for guests should they need them,” Carroll said.
Temperature checks for all employees are also conducted. All employees have been provided with additional tools to ensure they use the most up-to-date hygiene protocols and guidance.
“We are regularly reviewing the latest information, protocols and tools from the world’s leading health experts and government authorities to ensure the effectiveness of our response,” Carroll added.
The British woman's partner is now being isolated at Sanglah Hospital.
He is one out of 12 patients under observation for COVID-19. Swab samples of the man have been sent to Jakarta for testing.
"He is in good condition and shows no symptoms. He is in an isolation room because he had contact with a [COVID-19] patient," said Sanglah hospital director Wayan Sudana.
