The Health Ministry announced 684 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 28,233.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the ministry’s disease control and prevention director general, Achmad Yurianto, added that 35 more people had died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 1,698.
The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 8,406.
The capital city recorded 82 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 7,623. Meanwhile, East Java reported 183 new cases, Banten 71, South Kalimantan 64 and Papua 39.
The virus has spread to all of the country's 34 provinces. (dfr/mfp)
