“In developing Borobudur, we need to view it not only as a world heritage site but rather as an inspiring heritage site,” said PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko (TWCBPRB) president director Edy Setijono.
Moreover, Setijono said the TWCBPRB always came up with a yearly theme for promoting Borobudur. Last year, the theme was Sounds of Music that emphasized exploring reliefs on the temple that pictured string instruments.
“This year, the featured theme is Fashion of Borobudur, which explores women’s hairstyles back in the seventh century as seen in the temple's reliefs,” he said.
The themes for the next two years have also been set and are Agriculture of Borobudur and Transportation of Borobudur. (asw)
