'Si Juki' explores Indonesia to promote 10 tourist destinations

he Office of the Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister has launched a comic book series titled Si Juki Seri Jalan-Jalan Nusantara (Si Juki Exploring the Archipelago Series).

The comic is a collaboration between the ministry, publisher Elex Media Komputindo and content creator PIONICON. With Si Juki as the main character, it aims to promote 10 tourist destinations in Indonesia.

The first edition, released on Dec. 5, sees Si Juki and partner Mang Awung, who is a tiger, exploring Labuan Bajo, Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara. They visit tourist spots such as Bukit Cinta (Love Hill), Batu Cermin (Mirror Stones) Cave and the Komodo Island National Park.

Creator Faza, story writer Yahya Muhaimin and illustrator Listya Chandra visited Labuan Bajo for five days to draw inspiration for the comic book, reported Antara.

According to PIONICON media connector Rafly Nugroho, Si Juki would travel to Belitung Island, Bangka Belitung, next. The full edition is set to be published in March, following the series’ release schedule of one book every three months.

Si Juki Seri Jalan-Jalan: Petualangan di Korea (Korean Adventures) was released last year. It was Si Juki’s first traveling series, with South Korea as the destination. (iru/kes)
