raveling used to be all about escaping the daily routine, as well as an opportunity to experience other cultures and meet new people.

Thanks to the popularity of Instagram, now traveling is also considered a chance to take and share photos of yourself and photos with your loved ones in interesting new settings.

David Soong, CEO and founder of on-demand photography service provider SweetEscape, said that travel photography had become a popular trend, as people felt bored with their own cities.

Not everyone has the luxury to travel frequently, he said, however cities, such as Jakarta, typically had many beautiful spots worth "Instagramming". 

On Wednesday, SweetEscape held a media event to visit the capital’s hidden gems, namely the Aquatics Stadium at the Gelora Bung Karno sports complex in Senayan, Candra Naya mansion on Jl. Gajah Mada, Acaraki Jamu Cafe in Kota Tua and the rooftop of Le Meridien hotel.

Accompanied by photographer Reza Adigraha, the short journey allowed us to rediscover the capital through the camera lens.

At the Aquatic Stadium, Reza showed how the white walls provided a contrast to the colorful outfits worn by the social media influencers who joined the event, Vici Sienna, Prisca Angelina and Stevie Wong.
