AFP photographer Adek Barry is based in Jakarta and has covered most of the big stories out of Indonesia over the last decade, including the devastating tsunami in 2004, terrorist bombings, many others disasters that happened in Indonesia and the region. She has also done assignments in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, and East Timor. She was part of the AFP's team covering the 2012 London Summer Olympics and 2021 Tokyo Summer Olympics. Adek also involved in covering a range of stories from daily fe to women's issues ahead of the September 11 deadline for the complete withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan in 2021.
