o commemorate World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, PT AIA FINANCIAL (AIA) in collaboration with Kreaby, a Jakarta-based studio for autistic artists, has launched Kamus Besar Istilah Asuransi, a dictionary of insurance terms.
This publishing initiative embodies a progressive step toward boosting inclusivity and literacy in Indonesia’s insurance industry through Kamus Besar Istilah Asuransi (Great dictionary of insurance terms), while also empowering autistic artists through Kreaby.
Launched as part of the AIAPedia program that aims to improve insurance literacy, the new dictionary seeks to equip members of the public with commonly used insurance terms to help them understand what insurance is and how it works to protect them and their families.
Kathryn Parapak, Chief Marketing Officer at AIA, said: “It is an honor for AIA to launch Kamus Besar Istilah Asuransi on World Autism Awareness Day and to collaborate with Kreaby, which adds a unique and creative perspective to the dictionary.
“We launched the dictionary with the aim of developing insurance literacy among the public by providing an accessible reference for insurance terms, as well as to encourage greater inclusion of autistic people in society."
Kamus Besar Istilah Asuransi is a manifestation of AIA’s efforts to fulfill its environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments through the AIA Sehat Untuk Negeri (health for the nation) program. Aside from providing a resource for insurance education, the dictionary aims to raise awareness about people with autism and the need to embrace them in an inclusive society.
A soft copy of the digital dictionary as well its online edition are available on the dedicated page at the AIA website (aia.id/KamusAsuransi).
AIA Indonesia’s Sehat Untuk Negeri program is designed to create positive and sustainable changes in the country by prioritizing sustainable business decisions that aim to protect nature, encourage social progress and equality and uphold the principles of good corporate governance.
AIA Indonesia has carried out a variety of other initiatives in line with its ESG commitments, such as promoting electricity and fuel efficiency, digitalizing its operations, planting a tree for each new customer and applying ESG investing strategies.
