More than 10 websites allow movie fans to illegally download Wiro Sableng.

he Communications and Information Ministry has blocked 19 movie streaming websites that allow users to watch and download the movie Wiro Sableng.

Publocker.aryapm, situsfilm-online.blogspotfilm21cineplex.blogspot and ganool21 are among the blocked websites.

An official statement from the ministry said the sites were blocked on Wednesday afternoon following a request from the Jakarta Police on Tuesday.

The ministry also encourages movie fans to support Indonesia’s creative industry by avoiding websites that infringe on intellectual property rights and refrain from broadcasting unauthorized films on the internet.

Premiered in August and directed by Angga Dwimas Sasongko, Wiro Sableng follows the life of Wiro Sableng (Vino G. Bastian), a martial arts hero who goes on a mission to avenge his parents’ death. Produced by Sheila “Lala” Timothy, the film will be part of a trilogy. (wir/kes)
