lank and Navicula are reportedly preparing new works that aim to campaign against the bad effects of plastic waste that continue to threaten the Earth.

"We will soon release a song titled 'Manusia Plastik' [Plastic Human]," said Slank vocalist Kaka during the 2018 Our Ocean Conference (OOC) in Bali on Monday as quoted by Antara.

Kaka said the song would include satire, namely how nowadays many people consume plastic waste from fish that consumed plastic waste in the sea.

Meanwhile, Navicula created a short film titled Pulau Plastik (Plastic Island) in cooperation with eco-conscious institutions and companies. It will follow how humans have created many products that are damaging the environment due to their improper waste management.

Both bands as well as other local musicians like Jogja Hip Hop Foundation will perform in a concert on Monday at Pandawa Beach, Nusa Dua, as part of the OOC.

This is the fifth time the OOC has been conducted and is its first time in Asia. Previous conferences were held in the United States, Chile and Malta.

Six country heads are set to attend this year's OOC in Bali, slated to run for two days until Tuesday. (kes)
