A throng of loyal customers gathered on Sunday evening to witness the final day of operation of a McDonald's restaurant in the Sarinah shopping center in Central Jakarta. The gathering prompted the Jakarta administration to reprimand the restaurant for violating its physical distancing policy.
Opened on Feb. 23, 1991, it was the first-ever McDonald's restaurant in the country. McDonald's Indonesia closed down the flagship restaurant as the shopping center will undergo a renovation and change its business strategy. (JP/I Gede Dharma JS)
