DJ Riri files for divorce

JAKARTA: DJ Riri filed for divorce from actress Alice Norin on Wednesday, confirming rumors the couple were heading for a breakup.

The breakup was allegedly triggered by Alice’s confession in April that she had had an affair.
DJ Riri’s lawyer, Mada R. Mardanus, was reluctant to respond to the allegation.

“There have been constant conflicts and fights. And maybe also because the two are busy [with their work],” Mada told okezone.com after lodging the suit in the South Jakarta religious court.
“There’s no third person.”

He said the decision did not come from Riri alone but was mutually agreed to by the couple.
“They agreed to divorce sometime around two weeks ago,” Mada said.

“I don’t know whether they live in separate houses but one thing that’s for sure is they still see each other frequently.”

In April this year, Alice openly confessed to having had an affair with the son of a top businessman, triggering rumors of a breakup and divorce.

Riri, crowned the No. 1 DJ in Indonesia’s Top Ten DJ Paranoia Award in 2007, is one of the Indonesian DJs who have successfully brought the industry out from the underground scene. — JP
