ewcomer Vicky Shu has proven that she is more than just beautiful. The multi-talented celebrity, whose full name is Vicky Veranita Yudhasoka, can also sing, as shown in her debut album Drink Me.
The former Miss Indonesia finalist was under the spotlight recently when she acted as Cleopatra in Mahakarya RCTI 22, a drama and musical production to celebrate the private TV station’s birthday.
The 24-year old is blending her hobbies and work, trying to make a living from singing and shoe designing.
“My recent activities have revolved around touring to promote my album and I also still design for my own shoe label, Syu Shu. The next exciting thing is getting ready to prepare my second album.
I live a busy life. I almost have no days off and I even take vocal lessons during my free time. The good thing is, I like to consider my work as my holiday as I go to many places during my shows.
My hobbies are singing and designing shoes, so basically, I do my hobbies all the time. My penchant for singing started early in my childhood. When I was a kid, I used to act as if I were an MTV VJ and I liked copying some of Britney Spears, Nsync and Backstreet Boys dance moves.
During my leisure time, I also like to hang out with my friends, of course, but I don’t really like to go out. I usually invite them to my house, bringing in some good wine and have a girls talk.
If I am so tired because of my schedule, I will need a very long sleep, and put my cell phone on silent. It helps me feel relaxed and recover my spirits.
I don’t like to go out of the capital city on weekends because I have already been out of the capital city to do my shows almost everyday. If I have nothing to do on weekends, I think I just want to hit a very nice beach and just enjoy the natural views.
If I have a week or two of holiday, I go to Saint Tropez in Marseille in the south of France to get away from my routine for a while. The life in Jakarta is hard. We desperately need open spaces and parks to generate better air circulation and reduce air pollution. Of course, they would make Jakarta a less stressful city.”
