Lawyer insists Mario is innocent

ommy Sihotang, the lawyer of Mario C Bernardo, who was recently arrested inconnection with a bribery case, has insisted that his client is innocent.
'He hasn't bribed anyone. Besides, Rp 80 million is way too small an amount tobe considered a bribe. You could buy lunch with that amount, but not bribesomeone,' Tommy said onSaturday as quoted by tribunnews.com.
He also denied media reports that Djody Supratman, who was arrested along withMario, was the culprit in the case. He said Djody worked at the Supreme Court'straining and education center and therefore did not have access to case files.
Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators arrested Djody two daysago at the National Monument Park with a bag containing Rp 78 million. At the same time, Mario was arrested at the Hotma Sitompoel law firm office. The investigators also raided Djody's house in Cipayung and confiscated another Rp 50 million.
