he Muaro Jambi Policehave announced the arrest of a crystal methamphetamine dealer identified asHerianto, a resident of Sembubuk village, Jaluko district, Muaro Jambi. Thepolice have also confiscated 13 packages of crystal meth, popularly known as shabu-shabu.
Herianto was apprehended on his motorbike in the front of the Muaro Jambi Police station.
Muaro Jambi Police head Adj. Sr. Comr. Ayi Supardan said the police had arrested Herianto thanks to a tip off from local residents concerned with Herianto's suspicious activities.
'We received a tip from local residents and we followed up on the report by conducting surveillance on him,' he said.
He said Herianto had been charged with illegally possessing narcotics and thus violating Narcotics Law No. 35/2009, which carried a maximum four years in prison.
Ayi said the police were now still developing the case, trying to pursue the big distributors behind Herianto.(dic)
