Prabowo camp says PKS tally
more accurate than KPU's

The spokesman for presidential ticket Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa, Tantowi Yahya, said on Tuesday that the vote recapitulation by the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) was more accurate than that by the General Elections Commission (KPU).

Tantowi said that Prabowo had decided to go by data from the PKS tally rather than that of the KPU as the party and the coalition camp had deployed 685,000 volunteers to report on the vote count and to supervise the election.

"This data is accurate. I went to the PKS data center and I can assure you that its tally is very accurate," said Tantowi in Jakarta.

He said the PKS tally indicated that Prabowo had won the election.

Prabowo earlier in the day rejected the election vote recapitulation process and result, claiming that the election was flawed and marred by widespread fraud. (tjs/ren)
