T

he 2015 Belu Region Indonesia Expedition Team is providing free cataract surgery on Monday and Tuesday at the Naibonat Regional Hospital in East Kupang district, Kupang regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Kupang Regency Health Office head Robert Amheka told The Jakarta Post on the sidelines of the event on Monday that 250 patients had registered, but the free surgery was limited to 50 patients, while the rest would be referred to Prof. WZ Yohannes Regional Hospital in Kupang city.

The 2015 Belu Indonesia Expedition spokesperson Sri Hidayati said the team organized the free cataract operations again in Naibonat subdistrict, Kupang regency, after holding a free medical care program in Camplong district, Kupang regency, last week.

The two-day program, she added, was conducted in collaboration with the Media Foundation Group, the Mata Hati Foundation, the Perdami Foundation and the Wira Sakti Military Command.
