'€œBased on data we gathered from market traders, at least 400 kiosks were razed and the damages were estimated to reach Rp 10 billion,'€ Pekanbaru chapter Indonesia Market Traders Association head Agus Sikumbang was quoted as saying by Antara news agency on Tuesday.

He added most of the gutted kiosks were built of wood. According to him, the value of each kiosk and its contents could amount to between Rp 20 million and Rp 100 million.

Agus said no casualties were reported in the blaze. The cause of the fire remains unclear and police are still investigating the incident.
