AKARTA: A fire blazed through the taxation directorate general's office on Jl. Gatot Subroto in South Jakarta on Friday morning.
The fire started at 4 a.m. in the building's basement.
Taxation directorate general spokeswoman Ani Natalia said that the fire was caused by an overheated electric transformer in an engine-generator room in the basement.
'The fire did not spread to the upper floors,' she said of Friday as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Fortunately, Ani said, the fire did not burn any important documents as the document room was far from the fire. South Jakarta Fire and Disaster Management Agency deployed 22 fire trucks to extinguish the fire.
