he Kupang Police arrested on Friday two women, identified only as SI and SR, who allegedly sexually harassed a man with physical disabilities, identified as MD, in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara.
Kupang Police crime unit chief Adj. Comr. Pinten Bagus Satrianing Budi said the arrest took place after the police received a report from MD and his mother, KD, as well as several family members on Friday.
“We’ve arrested the perpetrators and summoned their respective parents too. According to their confession to our officers, they did [the harassment] just for fun,” Pinten said on Saturday as quoted by kompas.com.
SI and SR are charged under Article 281 of the Criminal Code on sexual harassment in public, which carries a maximum sentence of two-and-a-half years in prison.
MD told the police that SI and SR had not only sexually harassed him, but also recorded their deed using a camera phone. The video had gone viral on social media. (vla)
