Sipinsur is set as the final location for Toba Cross Run

Lake Toba is slated to hold a running event called Toba Cross Run (TCR) on Oct. 28.

The race is divided into three categories: 5K, 25K and 55K and the route will travel past the three regencies near Toba namely Humbang Hasundutan, Toba Samosir and North Tapanuli.

The finish point will be at Sipinsur that is located 1,400 meters above sea level. Standing at this place, people will get to see the view of Lake Toba and villages in North Tapanuli, Toba Samosir and Samosir regencies.

Sipinsur also offers the best view of sunset and sunrise.

“It is located in Pearung village, Paranginan district, Humbang Hasundutan. The total area is one hectare and it has a camping ground, playing ground and pine forest,” told Alfonso Napitupulu of Horas Halak Hita Community.

Additionally, the place also features Sipinsur Education Park, one of the tourist objects in Lake Toba area.

“It is one of the tourist objects that will be included in the Earth Park or Geopark Kaldera Toba that will be submitted to the UNESCO,” Alfonso added. (asw)
