ndonesian electric motorcycle manufacturer Alva participated at the world’s largest motorcycle exhibition, the Milan Motorcycle Shows (EICMA) in Milan, Italy, showcasing the Alva N3 unit in cooperation with Kawago.

“Our participation at EICMA is an important milestone in Alva’s journey to reach the global market,” Alva chief marketing officer Putu Swaditya Yudha said in a statement on Wednesday.

“The strategic partnership with Kawago opens the door for Alva to prove that Indonesia can become a reliable electric motorcycle producer at the global level.”

Alva’s participation in the EICMA is not only to introduce its design and technology to the European market, but also to directly offer its products to potential international customers, Swaditya said.

He added that the collaboration with Kawago as Alva’s international sales partner will strengthen Alva’s strategic step in reaching the global market, building global alliances and creating additional values.

The yearly EICMA is held from Tuesday to Sunday at the Fiera Milano Rho fairground, some 14 kilometers from Milan proper.

Meanwhile, Kawago chief executive officer Lu Wei said that the collaboration with Alva was an important step for Kawago in expanding green transport ecosystem at the international level.

“We see Alva as a strategic partner which has a strong vision and commitment toward innovation and sustainability,” he said in the statement.

“Through this collaboration, we hope to expedite the transition toward a mobility which is cleaner, more efficient, smarter and competitive at the global level.”

Kawago will actively distribute and market Alva electric motorcycles to various countries, opening further export opportunities. The collaboration will also open the opportunity for Indonesia to contribute to pushing for the world’s sustainable mobility transformation.

The Alva N3 has a wheelbase of 1.35 meters with a length of 1.92 m, a width of 710 millimeters and a height of 1.1 m. The motorcycle has a ground clearance of 145 mm and a seat height is 770 mm.

The electric motorcycle is powered by a 4.5-kilowatt (kW) hub drive motor, allowing for a maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour. With one battery, the N3 can go as far as 70 km while units equipped with two batteries can go twice as far.

Alva adopts lithium battery technology for its N3 with a power of 72 volts, 25 ampere-hours or 1.8 kilowatt-hours (kWh).

Normal charging time from empty to 100 percent will take about four hours with a power of 0.5 kW. Meanwhile, boost charging mode will charge the battery from 10 percent to 50 percent in less than 30 minutes with a power of 4 kW.

Officially launched in October 2024, the company claims that Alva N3 was the first electric motorcycle designed by a domestic research and development team to be exhibited at a global event such as EICMA.

The Alva N3 electric motorcycle and other models are manufactured at Alva’s manufacturing plant in Cikarang, Bekasi regency, West Java. The factory also produces four other Alva models, with N3 the most affordable.(nvn)
