Epson Indonesia launches new products, boosts business-to-business segment (,)

T

echnology company PT Epson Indonesia, part of Japan’s multinational company Seiko Epson Corporation, has launched new products as well as announcing its commitment to boost its business-to-business (B2B) engagements in keeping with the current industrial trend.

The newly launched products represent some of the company’s core expertise: visual communications, inkjet printing and robotics.

The first product, from the visual communications category, is the latest variants of the Moverio smart glasses, namely the Moverio BT-350 and Moverio Pro BT-2200. The latest smart glasses use augmented reality that features increased flexibility, which makes the new products more compact and comfortable for customers to wear.

The company has also launched two new projectors, including the Epson EB-600 series, an interactive LCD projector that boasts smart and innovative features for short-distance visual projections.

The second is the Epson EP-1460Ui, an interactive ultra short-throw projector that has high brightness and full high resolution that guarantee audience satisfaction.

Video mapping projections in several locations in Indonesia -- including the Prambanan temple in Yogyakarta and the National Museum in Jakarta -- have proven the superb quality of Epson projectors thanks to its high brightness and color clarity.

Another new product is the WF-C20590 printer, from the inkjet printer category, which is the latest model from the company’s WorkForce Enterprise series. The printer boasts high productivity and performance, which help corporate users to produce high quality inkjet printouts.

The printer itself is built with the Linehead PrecisionCore technology developed by Epson, which allows it to print rapidly with a production rate of 100 pages per minute. The rapid printing process allows businesses to be more efficient in their production process. The printer is designed in such a way that, while allowing it to have a high rate of productivity, it still maintains output quality as well as machine endurance.

Then there is the SCARA T3 robot, which represents the company’s robotics category. The new robot is quite affordable, with an advantage of 30 percent less electric power consumption compared to conventional SCARA robots currently available in the marketplace. This new robot applies a compact entry level and multipurpose model, which allows the product to apply simple tasks such as product assembly, inspection and placement.

The new robot also incorporates Epson’s vision system that allows it to see objects with superb image quality, which allows the robot to detect and place objects accurately.

Currently, PT Epson Indonesia leads Indonesia’s visual projector market with a market share of 33 percent nationally. According to data provided by Futuresource Consulting Limited, the demand for projectors with high lumens would continue to increase to as high as 125 percent in 2020.

Therefore, the company continues to invest heavily in building technology and products that will cater to the needs of various businesses across different sectors.

In the inkjet printing sector, PT Epson Indonesia also leads the market with a market share of 47 percent nationally. The company also continues to push towards the transformation from analog to digital textile printing in order to supply demands that continue to soar.

In its robotics product line, meanwhile, the company will continue to develop robots that can see, feel, think and cooperate with others the way humans do, so they can work together in different contexts and situations.

The fourth industrial revolution, characterized by the adoption of digital technology and the internet to every aspect of doing business, has also encouraged PT Epson Indonesia to expand its B2B engagements, offering tailored solutions to different business sectors based on the company’s core strengths.

This commitment was voiced during a power breakfast meeting organized with The Jakarta Post on Jan. 30 in the ballroom of the Ritz-Carlton Pacific Place Jakarta. The meeting invited business leaders across different sectors -- healthcare, agriculture, banking, education and mining, among others -- to discuss opportunities and challenges brought by the digital disruption on business processes.

According to PT Epson Indonesia B2B head Andryanto C. Wijaya, the solutions would revolve around the company’s key innovation elements: inkjet printers, robotics, visual communications as well as wearable technology.

Upon listening to presentations from each business sector, Andryanto presented a number of solutions that the company could give to help businesses increase their efficiency by making use of its technological solutions.
