irAsia has again reaffirmed its strong commitment to providing quality and affordable flight services by launching five new domestic routes in Indonesia.

AirAsia Indonesia (flight code QZ) will start operating the five new domestic routes in both directions on Aug. 1, 2019: Jakarta-Lombok (11 flights per week), Bali-Lombok (seven flights/week), Yogyakarta Kulon Progo-Lombok (three flights/week), Bali-Labuan Bajo (seven flights/week) and Surabaya-Kertajati (three flights/week).

The expansion is part of AirAsia’s continuing commitment to supporting Indonesia’s tourism industry and the national economy through increased connectivity among domestic destinations.

One of the leading low-cost airlines in the world, AirAsia is celebrating its five new Indonesian routes by offering special one-way fares inclusive of tax for the Jakarta-Lombok route (starting from Rp 635,000), the Bali-Lombok route (from Rp 243,000) and the Surabaya-Kertajati route (from Rp 626,000).

Tickets for the new routes can be purchased through airasia.com or the AirAsia app until June 30 for flying on Aug. 1-Oct. 26, 2019. All domestic tickets already include up to 15 kg of free baggage.

AirAsia Indonesia President Director Dendy Kurniawan expressed his gratitude to the Indonesian government, particularly the Transportation Ministry, for its support.

“We’d like to express our deepest gratitude to the Transportation Ministry and all stakeholders for their support, so that we could realize the launch of the five new routes. We have long been interested in expanding our domestic routes in Indonesia,” said Dendy.

“Since the newest AirAsia hub in Lombok was inaugurated in early May 2019, and with the addition of our 25th Airbus A320 aircraft to our fleet, we are now ready to connect many more top destinations in Indonesia to support its tourism industry and its economy as a whole,” he added.

“With the access given to us to expand our domestic routes, we can’t wait to accommodate the public’s aspirations for more choices in qualified and affordable flight services in exploring tourist spots across the archipelago,” he said.

The new domestic routes have increased AirAsia’s capacity in connecting tourist destinations in Indonesia, adding to its already existing domestic services flying to and from Jakarta-Bali, Jakarta-Yogyakarta, Jakarta-Surabaya, Bali-Yogyakarta, Bali-Surabaya, Bali-Solo and Yogyakarta-Medan Kualanamu.
