Toyota and Daihatsu say the cars they sell in Indonesia are not affected by the global recall or safety concerns.
he local license holders for the manufacture and distribution of Toyota and Daihatsu vehicles have been directed by their principals to halt exports until further notice but say their cars for the Indonesian market remain safe to use.
Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) and Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM), both subsidiaries of conglomerate Astra International, and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMI) made the announcement on Thursday.
“We will try our best to obtain confirmation from authorities in export destinations as soon as possible so that ADM can fulfil the export request according to the plan,” ADM said.
