he Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) has announced that Arsjad Rasjid has returned to active duty as its chairman for the 2021-2026 period.
Arsjad resumed his duties on Thursday after temporarily leaving his position last September to accept an appointment as manager of the Ganjar Pranowo presidential campaign.
Kadin deputy chairman Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi served as acting chair during Arsjad’s absence.
Arsjad explained his decision to temporarily leave Kadin with his commitment to neutrality and good governance.
Upon his return to Kadin, Arsjad emphasized that he would focus on the strengthening of the organization and on driving its agenda forward in 2024.
“As a strategic partner of the government in accordance with the mandate of Law No. 1 of 1987 and Presidential Decree No. 18 of 2022, Kadin continues to focus on providing benefits to its members while also encouraging contributions of the private sector to Indonesia’s economic growth,” he said in a statement on Thursday.
Arsjad added that Kadin would carry out its work program for 2024, which focused on four pillars: national health; national and regional economic strengthening; strengthening entrepreneurship, competence and organizational structure and internal regulatory strengthening.
