T

he National Development Planning Ministry/National Development Planning Board (Bappenas) and the Indonesian Fintech Association (Aftech) launched on Friday the Digital x Real Sector Launchpad as bridge between digital economy ecosystems and real sector needs.

The program carries cocreation principles through problem identification, solution design, trial and data-based evaluation. The initiative is in line with the 2025-2029 Mid-term National Development Plan (RPJMN), which places digital transformation as a strategic pillar for economic development and financial inclusion.

The program has been applied in a dairy cow cooperative in Malang, East java, which was followed by the involvement of financial technology (fintech) providers from alternative business models, credit scoring agencies, insurance firms and financial planners.

“Aftech pushes for national economic growth through problem-solving-based collaboration,” Aftech chairman Pandu Sjahrir said in Jakarta on Friday, as quoted by a joint statement issued by Bappenas and Aftech.

“It is more than just a discourse but a real working program answering challenges in the real sector by upholding responsible innovation, good governance and ethical principles.”

Pandu was speaking during an economic and digital finance forum attended by industry players, regulators and digital associations to discuss ecosystem synergy to accelerate digital transformation in the real sector through technological innovation.

“We welcome the collaboration between the national development ministry/Bappenas and Aftech through the Digital x Real Sector Launchpad as a concrete step to support the 2025-2029 RPJMN through innovative and impact-based approaches,” National Development Planning Minister and Bappenas head Rachmat Pambudy said, as quoted by the joint statement.

Rachmat said that digital transformation is one of the main strategies to push for 8 percent economic growth.

“Indonesia has huge potential in digital transformation, and it keeps growing. The acceleration of digital transformation is expected to increase productivity and national economic growth,” he said.

Pandu said that the forum, which was part of the 2025-2029 RPJ, was meant to follow up on a discussion among associations about the digital finance ecosystem on March 21.

“Increasing trust in the ecosystem is the key to pushing and strengthening the investment climate in the digital economic and finance ecosystem,” he said, as quoted by the joint statement.

“Aftech welcomes the collaboration with the national development ministry and Bappenas to strengthen cross-association synergy in supporting national digital transformation.

Meanwhile, Aftech supervisory board chairman Arsjad Rasjid said that achieving the economic target could be realized through partnerships between the government and businesses to push for productivity in the real sector.

Arsjad recommended four steps for strategic partnership between the ministry and the digital finance ecosystem: strengthening digital infrastructure, building interoperability of cross-sectoral data, preparing workers through training and education and maintaining ecosystem integrity through regulation and consumer protection.
